The STA Annual Conference and AGM will return to Birmingham on 15 April 2026. This is a strictly STA MEMBERS ONLY event.

The must-attend house building conference. Bringing together the leading experts in house building to explore new home delivery, innovation, construction quality, customer satisfaction and upcoming regulatory change. Keeping you ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.

Our seminar: This is timber frame provides a practical, design-led introduction to modern timber frame systems, covering how they are manufactured, detailed and delivered on site.
It’s ideal for architects, engineers, contractors and anyone involved in specifying or working with timber frame buildings.

This free online seminar will explain how low-rise timber framed buildings can be designed, specified and constructed using structural timber elements that meet the requirements of the Building Regulations and follow the guidance provided in Approved Document B (England). The session will draw on key publications produced by the STA which cover the fire resistance of wall and floor elements as well as cavity barriers and fire stopping.
This session will be useful for anyone involved in the design construction of low-rise timber frame structures.

This free online seminar introduces the topic of fire during construction from a timber frame standpoint. It begins with a brief overview of the historical and legal context, including CDM 2015 and HSG 168, and outlines the Structural Timber Association’s 16 Steps to Fire Safety and the Site Safe policy, addressing both on-site and off-site risk management.

The Structural Timber Conference will be returning to the National Conference Centre in Birmingham on 7 October 2026.
