Freeman Construction NE Ltd is a specialist carpentry and structural timber contractor with over 20 years of experience within the construction industry, with particular expertise in timber frame construction and structural carpentry.

Our experience covers the installation of timber frame structures, floor joists and floor systems, roof structures, trussed roofs, traditional cut roofs, structural timber components, external sheathing and associated carpentry works. We work on projects ranging from individual residential developments and self-builds through to larger multi-plot developments, working alongside timber frame manufacturers, principal contractors and developers.

As a business, we are committed to raising standards within timber frame construction. We believe that correctly trained and competent installers are essential to ensuring timber frame structures are erected safely, accurately and in accordance with the manufacturer’s design, specification and industry best practice.

Our reason for joining the Structural Timber Association (STA) is not simply to demonstrate our experience, but to continue developing as a specialist timber frame contractor. We want to invest in the correct industry-recognised training, competency and technical knowledge for both our management team and site operatives.

Our aim is to ensure our workforce understands not only how to erect timber frame structures, but also the importance of structural integrity, tolerances, fire safety, temporary stability, moisture management, quality control and correct installation procedures throughout the construction process.

We believe the timber frame sector will continue to grow significantly as the construction industry moves towards modern methods of construction and more sustainable building solutions. Freeman Construction wants to play an active role in that growth by promoting competency, training, quality workmanship and higher installation standards across the industry.
