RG Carter Technical Services

R G Carter delivered a number of high profile projects in 2013, most specifically the first joint venture project between Tesco and Dobbies garden centre. The new retail store, covering 103,000sq ft in total, was developed on the site of the former Campbells Soup Tower which was demolished by R G Carter who built it back in 1959.

Other notable projects included the completion of the 64-bed residential development at the Genome Campus for the Wellcome Trust; the refurbishment of the College of West Anglia’s Tower Block, the largest educational building in King’s Lynn; the first purpose-built multiple-learning difficulties facility for Leicester College and a mixed development for Tesco which included a new fire station and community centre.

We also completed a bespoke archive building, thought to be the most comprehensive collection of works, of the celebrated British composer Benjamin Britten. The project has since been awarded the RIBA Award for East of England and was shortlisted for ‘Small Project of the Year’ in building Magazine.

The Firm has remained strong throughout this year and we continue to deliver high quality projects to our clients. Projects under construction include work on the first building on Norwich Research Park’s expansion site; refurbishment to Westminster College; a redevelopment programme at Peterborough Regional College and three new medical centres for investors GPI.
