LoCaL Homes is a timber panel manufacturing hub which produces high quality, environmentally-friendly homes, innovatively designed to provide an exciting new housing product that offers modern Low Carbon Living.

LoCaL Homes have two flagship timber frame products:

The Eco 200 series is a closed timber frame system, comprising of 200mm studs sheathed on the external face with oriented strand board and filled with environmentally-friendly earth-wool recycled insulation. The interior side of the panel is closed with an insulating foil membrane which is incredibly tough. Counter battens are then fitted over the foil membrane to provide a service void for electrical cables and other equipment. This service void also increases the insulating properties of the overall wall construction. The exterior side is faced with a breathable waterproof membrane; a 38mm timber batten is then fitted creating a cavity. Finally, the panel is covered with a high-quality timber / cementitious cladding which comes with an expected 50 year lifespan. The Eco 200 series wall is extremely thermally efficient. An independent assessment has confirmed a u-value of less than 0.18 W/m2K for a 200mm stud cladded wall. A range of external cladding options make it very flexible in terms of architecture and design.

The Eco 100 series is a traditional timber frame open panel system comprising of 100mm studs sheathed on the external face with oriented strand board and filled with environmentally-friendly insulation. The interior side of the panel is closed with an insulating foil membrane which is incredibly tough. Counter battens are then fitted over the foil membrane to provide a service void for electrical cables and other equipment. This service void also increases the insulating properties of the overall wall construction. The exterior side is faced with a breathable waterproof membrane. The LoCaL Homes process provides accurate, versatile products that can be produced at volume. Combining the application of CADCAM technology with the use of high specification materials ensures maximum performance to the highest possible standards. The Eco 100 series wall is thermally efficient and an independent assessment has confirmed a u-value of 0.25 W/m2K for a 100mm studded wall.
