CCG OSM is the timber frame division of CCG (Scotland) Ltd, one of Scotland’s largest privately owned construction and manufacturing companies, with a turnover of £134 million in the last financial year.
The CCG Group has consolidated its position as a major force in building contracting and manufacture, employing 600 staff across eight fully integrated divisions, each with extensive experience across every sector of the industry.
The CCG Group's strategic direction is determined by extensive research and development into the requirements of the Scottish and UK Government’s sustainability agenda and the applied use of ‘Off-Site’ Modern Methods of Construction.
CCG Off-Site Manufacturing (OSM) is a leading manufacturer of structural timber systems based in Glasgow that was founded by parent company and principal client, CCG (Scotland) Ltd in 2010 after £12m of private investment from the CCG Board of Directors.
The facility was launched after CCG foresaw changes to the construction industry with increased demand, changes to building standards and an impending labour shortfall. CCG wanted to remove as many of the inefficiencies from the construction site as possible in order to deliver the highest standard of product possible for our clients
CCG OSM extends to 130,000 sq ft and is a semi-automated, 3-lane manufacturing line that utilises CAD CAM software to create panelised timber systems from a structural kit to a fully closed panel solution inclusive of insulation, internal wall linings, service zones, windows and doors. The 'iQ' panelised system is manufactured with consistent quality and with greater tolerances determined by fewer panels, junctions and thermal bridges it can offer better air-tightness and improved thermal efficiency when compared to traditional construction materials.
CCG OSM also designs and manufacture roof and floor cassettes as well as specialist timber solutions that cannot otherwise be delivered on the manufacturing line.
CCG OSM's principal client is CCG (Scotland) Ltd and with that, the target markets of the parent company are reciprocated to CCG OSM. Affordable housing accounts for 75% of the CCG Group’s market activity working with clients from the public and private sector. Unless it is otherwise specified, CCG utilises the 'iQ' closed panel timber system for all residential projects, bringing with it an assurance of delivery thanks to CCG's construction expertise.
Due to the flexibility of the 'iQ' system, CCG has been able to approach new areas of the market and created an enhanced position within the care, commercial, student housing and education sectors.
CCG OSM can also operates on a supply-only basis supplying the 'iQ' system to clients within the public and private sectors which includes a strategic partnership with Scotland-based Fjordhus who serve the self-build marketplace. With logistical flexibility, simplified site management and a faster speed of build, this allows clients located in any area of Scotland, and indeed the UK, to benefit from a leading, high-performing timber solution.
CCG’s approach to R&D is not limited to panelised systems. The Group has extensive experience into the applied- use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), now reaching a stage of combining the CCG OSM panelised system and structural timber to further extend our construction capabilities, reaching new heights in quality and speed of construction, as well as enhanced energy efficiency.
At CCG we continually challenge traditional construction convention, drive innovation and embrace change.
We are Building Futures.
