Timber frame products have been designed and manufactured at our premises in Berwickshire for over 40 years, giving us a strong reputation in the industry, based on proven experience and solid networks.

Fleming Homes Ltd. began life in 1986, when local businessman Thomas Fleming bought the timber frame manufacturing company, Clanwood Homes, and developed the business on from the same site in Duns.

In 2007, Hayden Martin was appointed Managing Director of the company. Hayden was initially employed to work on the factory floor manufacturing our timber frame panels, before becoming an accomplished construction designer, then manager and finally director of the company.

Following the passing of friend and mentor Thomas, Hayden led a management buy-out of Fleming Homes to become company owner in 2014. To this day, Hayden honours Thomas Fleming’s strong company ethics of loyalty, honesty and integrity, at the same time adding his own brand of enthusiasm, purpose and passion.

In September 2017 Sarah Mathieson took over as Managing Director of Fleming Homes allowing Hayden to focus on his number one priority – ensuring the delivery of first-class customer service in his role of Operations Director.

We jointly believe that what sets a company apart is its people – particularly with self-build, where smooth teamwork is crucial. Fleming Homes specialises in good people who can deliver the best advice, the right information and the most personable service.

We’re passionate about timber frame and believe it’s the future of self-build not just in continental Europe, but also in the UK. We continually develop our internal procedures to make the self-build process as easy and cost-effective as possible, to showcase timber self-build as a realistic option for all new home seekers, not just the privileged few.
