STA Library

The STA is committed to stringent standards of quality and service and sets a professional benchmark for the industry. We produce a range of Advice Notes, Information Papers, Construction Details and Technical Bulletins covering all aspects of structural timber design and application.

Information/documents are free to access - however, some documents are only accessible to STA Members. Please note that to download information from this website, you will need to enter your contact details and by entering your details you confirm that you are happy to receive further information from the Structural Timber Association.

How to use the Library:

In order to help you locate documents, you will find three dropdown search options below (Topic Type, Document Type and Technology Type). These enable you to broaden or narrow down your search according to your requirements.

For example, if you are looking for any documents relating to the topic of Design, simply select the 'Design' option under 'topic' and leave the other dropdowns blank.

If you are specifically looking for advice notes on Design, 'Design' in the topic type and select 'advice note' in the document type.

If you wish to search for an advice note relating to timber frame on the topic of Design, select 'Design' in the topic type, 'advice note' in the document type, and 'timber frame' in the technology type.
